I´m serving as a senior consultant in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Karolinska University Hospital since 2001.
Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynecology 1991 - 2001.
Former Medical Director for the Delivery Unit.
Present Medical Director for the Postnatal Care Unit and planned obstetric surgery.
I defended my doctoral thesis `Endocrine and Neuronal Interactions in Human Cervical Ripening´ at the Department of Women`s and Children´s Health Karolinska Institutet in 1998.
Supervisor was professor Gunvor Ekman Ordeberg, Department of Womens´s and Children´s Health, and co-supervisors were associate professor Lena Sahlin, Reproductive Endocrinol Unit, and associate professor Olle Johansson, Experimental Dermatology Unit, Department of Neuroscience, KI.
Dissertation opponent was professor Robert Garfield, Galveston University, Texas, US.
Our research in high risk obstetrics include progesterone treatment and cerclage for the prevention of preterm birth and evaluation of outcomes after extreme preterm birth on the edge of viability. Our research team investigate the impact of continuous support and psychosocial stress on obstetric labor outcome and we evaluate the indications for and outcomes after induced labor and cesarean section.
Since the Karolinska University Hospital is a tertiary center for high risk obstetrics including advanced placenta spectrum disorders (PAS), we strive to develop the multidisciplinary care for these women in collaboration with specialists in fetal-medicine ultrasound, gynecologic tumor surgery, interventional radiography, anesthesiology and neonatology.

Lecturer in Gynecologic Endocrinology and Maternal Fetal Medicine (Perinatology).
Tutor for Medical Degree Projects 30 hp KI, 12 medical students.
We arrange SFOG-courses in Perinatology for residents and specialists in Obstetrics and Neonatology.
