I am an associate professor and a senior researcher in global sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) in the Global and Sexual Health research group at the Department of Global Public Health, and affiliated to the Dep. of Women’s and Children’s Health https://ki.se/en/kbh/global-reproductive-health-grh
Forskningsbeskrivning
My research focus on migrants and SRHR as well as contraception and abortion, both in low- and middle-income contexts, in Sweden and in Europe. I supervise PhD students in Sweden and in Nigeria. As part of my engagement in reseach and education within SRHR I am part of the management committee of Academic Network for SRHR Policy (ANSER, https://www.ugent.be/anser/en). One of my interests is to understand access and use of contraception among migrants in Sweden, this through the IMPROVE it project
Pedagogiska meriter
The core of my teaching is on sexual and reproductive health and rights from a global health perspective, supervision of master students as well as qualitative research methods. My teaching includes lectures and seminars at undergraduate and graduate courses (masters and PhD). When teaching I have used “traditional” lecturing, workshops, seminars, blended learning including e-learning. I have initiated a doctoral course in SRHR, a joint course within the ANSER Network (https://www.ugent.be/anser/en)
