About me

  • I am a registered nurse with a PhD in medical science. Currently I am a
postdoctoral researcher at KI. Also, I work a Karolinska University Hospital
with nursing development at the Cancer Theme with special focus on upper
gastrointestinal diseases. When I work clinically, I care for patients in a
surgical high dependency unite who have gone through major abdominal surgery.
Bachelor in nursing, degree in 2003
1-year Master in Nursing (courses mainly towards surgical care), degree in
    2010
PhD in medical science, degree in 2019

Research

  • In May 2019 I defended my thesis with the title: Person-centered care
supported by an interactive app for patients with pancreatic cancer following
surgery. The research project evaluated how an interactive app för self-care
and symptom reporting to a nurse navigator could enhance the life situation
för patients undergoing surgery for pancreatic cancer.
Currently I am a postdoctoral researcher in the research group of Lars E
Eriksson. The project has the title “Facilitating lung cancer diagnosis:
Linking the experience body and the biological body” and explore how
subjective experiences can be linked to clinical changes and biomarkers, to
facilitate early discovery of lung cancer and treatment follow up.
Also, I am affiliated to the research group ICare where I am co-supervising
Kristina Rooth in a doctoral project which aims to evaluate the effects of av
interactive app for routine self-reporting of disease-related symptoms during
the first years after treatment for breast cancer.
My main interest is to enhance the life situation for patients undergoing
gastrointestinal cancer. My focus lays in how patient-reported outcomes can
be used in clinical practice to enhance care and outcomes for the individual
patient. Another of my interests is how patient' learning can be understood
    and enhanced.
Please read more about the research groups of Lars E Eriksson and ICare in
    the links below.

Teaching

  • The last couple of years, my teaching work has focused on supervising
students who write their master thesis and as clinical supervisor during
their clinical education at the hospital.
I am course leader for a course named Gastro-oncological care and nursing
    (7.5 credits).
    I am currently co-supervising one PhD-student.
