My role at KI: teaching, education and clinically-based research.

I am associated professor in physical and rehabilitation medicine since 2012, affiliated to dept. of Clinical Sciences at Karolinska Institutet, have been involved in teaching at KI since 1993. During last year I am involved in teaching and education in pain medicine as well as in conducting research in physical and rehabilitation medicine for postCOVID-19 condition. I am educated as medical doctor and working as a consultant in pain and physical and rehabilitation medicine at Multidisciplinary Pain clinic St Göran hospital, Stockholm. Beside my clinical work, together with multimodal team I am developing the use of ICF-based assessment and rehabilitation model for patients with chronic pain, including postCOVID-19 condition. ICF= International Classification of Functioning and Disability, a WHO framework to assess functioning, participation, disability and environmental factors. 

Forskningsbeskrivning

My research interests: postCOVID-19 condition, chronic fatigue, chronic pain, sleep disorders, digitalisation in physical and rehabilitation medicine. The latest project deals with internet-based multimodal rehabilitation for postCOVID-19 sufferers in Sweden and with postCOVID-19 cohort in Lithuanian population in collaboration with Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (LSMU) in Kaunas. During the last years I was also involved in research project on internet-based psychodynamic therapy in somatic syndrome disorder (responsible scientist assoc. prof. Robert Johansson).
