Jag har i min forskning ägnat mig åt utmaningar med att förbättra diagnos, behandling och kontroll av Plasmodium falsiparum malaria.
Förbättra diagnos, behandling och kontroll/eliminering av Plasmodium falciparum Malaria
Ett viktigt mål har kontinuerligt varit att tillämpa ny biomedicinsk teknik för att svara på parasitologiska, kliniska och epidemiologiska forskningsfrågor. Det innebär studier av diagnostisk teknik och malariaterapier och studier om möjlig utveckling och urval av olika genetiska parasitförändringar som potentiellt kan associeras med resistens mot upptäckt, diagnos och / eller behandling av P. falciparum.
Ett övergripande syfte är att ta itu med forskningsfrågan "är det möjligt att eliminera malaria från en hög endemisk region, typisk för Afrika söder om Sahara?"
